This is an opportunity to be part of Shell Low Carbon Solutions Biogas growth journey supporting the decarbonization of multiple sectors. Shell Biogas has a portfolio of 15 biogas production assets in Denmark, Netherlands and France, and an in-house development team focused on the construction of additional facilities and upgrading existing ones. In addition, Shell Biogas has a portfolio of 17 CNG and 1 LNG fuel stations in Denmark under the Nature Energy brand. The successful candidate will focus extensively on the daily operations of the fuel stations. The role is responsible for managing the relationship with the customers, external service providers, performance reporting and the budget for the business unit. This role requires exceptional communication skills to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, whilst also delivering exceptional day to day operational performance of the stations.
The
Green Transport Business Specialist
will be part of the "Commercial Innovation" team, which is part of the wider Business Development team of Shell Biogas. Key responsibilities will include:
- Customer account management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Shell Biogas's CNG customers in Denmark, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
- Operational management: Oversee the daily operations of CNG and LNG stations, coordinating with external service providers and internal teams. Adjust pricing and price strategies to optimise performance.
- Budget management: Develop, manage, and monitor the budget for the CNG business, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Performance reporting: Prepare and deliver regular reports on operational performance to other business units within Shell Biogas, including Trading and Finance.
Dimensions:
- Manage a portfolio of CNG and LNG stations and associated fuel customers in Denmark.
- Part of a wider team of approximately 15 Business Development professionals.
- Work in partnership with service providers, finance, and commercial teams across Shell.
- Role will report into the Commercial Innovation Lead.
Skills and requirements:
- Demonstrated success in customer-facing roles, with a proven track record of performance.
- Experience of developing and nurturing strong internal and external relationships.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
- Proven experience as a green fuels Manager with a focus on daily operations is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
The position is based in the Shell Biogas Head office in Odense; occasional domestic travel will be required.
