We are looking for a Business Unit Manager to join our Commercial team on a 12-month maternity cover at A. Espersen A/S – one of Europe's leading private label producers in the frozen fish category.
As our Business Unit Manager, you will take up a key role in our Nordic business unit where you will ensure strong commercial performance and customer collaboration within the business unit. You will align and execute the commercial strategy, lead customer partnerships and negotiations, oversee portfolio and pricing decisions, and ensure high-quality planning and financial tracking.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Align and implement the commercial strategy across Nordic customers
- Lead customer dialogues, negotiations, and annual business planning processes
- Manage the P&L including margin, pricing, volume mix, and forecasting quality
- Ensure strong portfolio execution including assortment decisions, launches, and promotional plans
- Translate customer insights and category dynamics into clear commercial initiatives
- Drive new business across the business unit
- Lead, guide, and develop a small commercial team, located in both Denmark and Poland.
You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Product Development to ensure effective execution.
We expect you
to hold a master's degree in business, marketing, sales, management or equivalent. Further, you are experienced within sales and the FMCG industry – preferably within chilled or frozen food & beverage categories. You have had leadership responsibilities before with experience in leading a small team.
You have experience with Nordic retail customers – and experience with both branded and private label products will be considered an advantage. In addition, you have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
You must be fluent in English – both written and oral – as our corporate language is English. Further, you must be fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish).

Your work location will be in our headquarter in Kastrup, Denmark, and we expect that you will be travelling up to 40 days per year for customer visits and to visit our sites, primarily in Poland. You will be reporting to our Sales Director, Retail.
Ideally you will join 1 January 2026, to secure a good introduction and handover. Initially the employment will be a 12 month maternity cover.
