Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Flyhjælp Full time 60,000 - 120,000 per year

Information

We give people access to justice

Digital technologies are transforming the legal services market, and we are at the forefront of this revolution. As a part of  Flightright, the pioneer of IT-based legal services in Germany, Flyhjælp in Copenhagen - operating under the Norwegian brand Flyhjelp - combines innovation with legal expertise to give people access to justice. Together with our parent company, we are the global leader in passenger rights and aim to reach even greater heights as we expand internationally. Since 2010, more than 11 million consumers worldwide have benefited from our services.

At Flyhjælp, our Litigation Department takes legal tech to the courtroom. We handle cases against airlines in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish courts, representing our customers' rights with a strong focus on results. From preparing legal pleadings to enforcing judgments, we ensure that air passengers are compensated fairly under EU Regulation 261/2004.

The Norwegian market presents unique opportunities and challenges, as Norway is not part of the EU, but has implemented EU Regulation 261/2004. Currently, our Norwegian team consists of two colleagues mainly focused on Danish and Swedish cases, because most Norwegian cases are handled by an external law firm, but we are looking to strengthen our in-house capabilities. The right candidate will not only help us expand and improve our internal handling of Norwegian cases, but will also act as a key account manager, maintaining and developing our collaboration with the external law firm, ensuring reporting and quality control.

We welcome applications from candidates based in Norway or an EU country, with the possibility to work fully remote, as well as candidates based in or wanting to move to Denmark. If you speak Swedish, Finnish, or Danish as well as Norwegian, that's a big plus

With a team of 50 employees at Flyhjælp, including 23 dedicated colleagues in the litigation department, we are proud of our diverse professional backgrounds and strong team spirit. Based in Copenhagen, we operate in a Nordic and international environment, collaborating closely with colleagues in Berlin, Budapest, Cairo, and Kyiv.

Are you a law graduate eager to apply your knowledge in a meaningful way? Do you want to gain hands-on litigation experience while working in a dynamic, tech-driven legal environment?

Then join our Litigation Department as a Norwegian-speaking Legal Expert and help us shape the future of Legal Tech

Your mission

As a Legal Expert in our litigation department, you will play a vital role in advocating for air passengers' rights while developing your expertise in civil litigation and consumer protection law. Flyhjælp offers a unique opportunity to combine your legal knowledge with cutting-edge technology to deliver justice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Stay up-to-date on Norwegian legal standards: Stay up-to-date with Norwegian courts, Forliksrådet and legal procedures, ensuring our processes align with the latest standards while tailoring litigation strategies to succeed in Norway.
  • Collaborate with the other Nordic teams: Work closely with Swedish, Danish, and Finnish colleagues to build a strong Nordic collaboration and share insights across markets.
  • Manage external collaboration: Act as the main point of contact and key account manager for our external Norwegian law firm, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with Flyhjælp's values and standards
  • Assist the Chief Legal Officer (CLO): Provide direct support in a variety of high-level legal activities, including conducting legal research, and offering strategic advice to enhance Flyhjælp's operations.
  • Lead internal legal initiatives: Prepare and deliver internal training sessions, mentor junior colleagues, and help strengthen the expertise of the entire litigation department.
  • Tackle complex cases: Take the lead on challenging legal matters, including preparing legal pleadings, conducting settlement negotiations, and representing clients in court hearings.
  • Contribute to innovation: Collaborate on optimizing workflows, implementing new technologies, and driving innovation in legal processes to improve our efficiency and results.

This is your opportunity to shape our approach to the Norwegian market while taking your litigation expertise to the next level in a dynamic, tech-driven environment.

Your profile

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who:

  • Has a background in law or has worked with legal matters
  • Is fluent in Norwegian at a professional level and possesses excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Has an interest in litigation and consumer protection law, with the ability to adapt quickly to new legal frameworks.
  • Has strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is motivated by a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
  • Embraces innovation and new technologies to enhance legal processes.
  • Is comfortable and confident in working with external stakeholders and maintaining professional partnerships.

Why us?
  • Professional growth: Work on meaningful cases and gain extensive experience in civil litigation, evidence theory, and legal procedure.
  • Dynamic environment: Join a forward-thinking legal-tech company that values innovation and challenges traditional ways of working.
  • Flexibility and inclusivity: Work remotely or from our office in Copenhagen (or even in Berlin during visits). We welcome candidates from Norway, Denmark, or beyond.
  • Impactful work: Contribute to ensuring justice for air passengers while advancing your legal career.
  • Fun and camaraderie: Be part of a team that values collaboration, celebrates success, and occasionally enjoys being a little quirky.
