Århus, Århus Kommune, Denmark Systematic Full time 800,000 - 1,200,000 per year

Are you ready to shape a new function, lead a team and make a tangible impact across Systematic? We are looking for a motivated Project Manager who thrives on creating structure, driving projects and leading people in a highly technical environment. This could be a unique opportunity to grow into your first people leadership role and help set the direction for a strategically important area.
**The role:

to drive projects, lead people and shape standard services**
As our new Project Manager, you will play a central role in establishing and growing a brand-new team that provides standardised services using the SitaWare Open Architecture. Your mission is to support internal Systematic business units and strengthen Systematic in developing strategic new products based on the SitaWare Product Suite by offering clear and efficient services and processes.

You will:

  • lead and manage projects:

day-to-day planning, task management, reporting, risk management and stakeholder alignment.
- drive team leadership:

lead a small team from the outset, handle recruitment, employee development and team growth.
- engage in bid processes:

support non-Defence proposals on behalf of the Defence organisation and participate in customer meetings.
- handle ongoing operations:

manage change requests, coordinate defect handling, support major incidents and ensure compliance.
- continuously improve:

optimise processes, develop guides and enhance collaboration across the organisation.
- take on ad-hoc software or service delivery projects within the SitaWare Extensions programme.

Expected business travel is 5–10 days per year.

**The team:

join and develop a new team**
You will join a newly established team, where you will have the opportunity to set the direction, shape the culture and build effective ways of working from the ground up.

Your first task will be to recruit the team, which will include a Software Architect, a Software Engineer, and possibly an intern or student trainee.

You will report to the Senior Program Manager for the Defence Extensions organisation and work closely with skilled colleagues across Systematic, collaborating with stakeholders from both Defence and non-Defence business units.

The role offers a great balance between people leadership, technical engagement and cross-organisational collaboration.

**What you bring:

leadership potential, strong technical skills and stakeholder focus**
You might be stepping into your first formal people leadership role or already have some leadership experience. What matters most is that you are motivated by leading people, improving services and processes and making a difference in a complex, technical landscape.

We expect you to have a master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar and 5–8 years of experience within software development, system integration or IT project management.

Ideally, you:

  • have 1–2 years of leadership experience (not a requirement – we will support you in your leadership growth).
  • are a strong communicator with excellent English skills and can navigate stakeholder management confidently.
  • are self-driven, customer-focused and motivated by building teams, improving processes and driving change.
  • can engage in technical discussions with developers and architects and have a basic understanding of software development (APIs, SDKs, cloud, containerisation, etc.).
  • have experience in dealing with IT service management processes (e.g. major incident handling).

Furthermore, experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Docker, SonarQube and D365 Project Management would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.

Please note
that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years, as we work on security-classified projects. Read more here.
