About the Role

We are seeking an experienced
Process Automation Engineer
to join our engineering team supporting projects across the
Oil & Gas
and
Renewable Energy
sectors.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Glostrup Municipality, with opportunities for partial remote work.

As a Process Automation Engineer at Cool Sorption, you will design, implement, and optimize automation processes while ensuring alignment with our sustainability goals.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining process control systems, troubleshooting technical issues, programming and maintaining PLC systems, and ensuring the reliability and accuracy of instrumentation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency and support our long-term mission.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of traditional and renewable energy technologies, contributing to the transition toward a more sustainable energy future.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Control, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 5–10 years of experience in process automation for
    Oil & Gas
    ,
    Renewable Energy
    , or
    Industrial Process Systems
    .
  • Proven experience with control systems for packaged units such as compressors, separators, hydrogen, or biogas skids.

Technical Skills:

  • PLC and HMI programming (mainly Siemens, Rockwell).
  • SCADA/DCS system configuration and integration.
  • Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA).
  • Functional safety and shutdown systems (ESD, F&G).
  • Solid understanding of process control principles and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with IIoT, digitalization, and advanced analytics (advantageous).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Organized, proactive, and safety-focused mindset.

Preferred Certifications (Advantageous):

  • ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or TÜV Functional Safety Engineer.
  • OEM certifications in PLC/HMI systems.
  • Project Management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification.
