Aarhus, Denmark Aarhus University Full time
The Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University, Denmark, is offering a postdoctoral position in Chemical ecology of plant-nematode interactions, starting 01-01-2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position will be available for a two-year period.

You will be part of a research environment focusing on mechanisms of interactions between plants and the root-associated biota. You will be contributing to specifically the area of root metabolomic impact on the behaviour and infectivity of plant parasitic nematodes. The main focus of your position will be to design and direct experiments to elucidate the impact of selected root metabolites as well as whole root metabolomes on plant parasitic nematodes. You will be collecting and analysing data on nematode responses, root metabolites and plant parameters and communicating your results in scientific papers. The research may also include investigations of interactions between root microbiomes and nematodes. Your work will entail pot, field and in vitro experiments, and you should be prepared to conduct some of your experiments with our partners in Norway.

We expect that you will be an important part of the research environment and that you will contribute positively to the social working environment. We also expect that you will take part in our teaching activities and that you will report research results in high-impact scientific journals.
