As a Head of HR, Nordics, you will partner with leaders and associates to solve local organizational challenges through people-related solutions that support Alcon’s mission: “to help people see brilliantly”. You will deliver annual people processes; have in-depth knowledge of local talent and provide coaching to leaders to help them accelerate talent readiness. This person brings a deep understanding of local business needs. You will contribute your HR and legal point of view into business issues and support diagnostic interventions to deliver local solutions. 

The successful candidate will need to have exceptional communication skills and a problem-solving mindset with the ability to coach and partner with business. Stakeholder management and relationship building are key to this position. Alcon is an ever-changing global company, so you need to be flexible, adaptable and open to learning and development.

The daily role of Alcon’s Head of HR, Nordics:

Delivers Alcon’s core HR services and people processes (e.g. Talent Review, Performance Management), and ensures an optimal associate experience Drives business success by coaching and advising teams on associate experience initiatives, such as Associate Experience Dashboard, Recognition programs, etc. Ensures timely execution of all people-related processes Implements global, regional or local HR programs Coaches business leaders and associates on all HR-related topics (e.g. change management, talent management, employee relations, career development, etc.) Partners with leaders for high-quality, diverse talent bench, through human resources processes  Supports diagnostic intervention and problem resolution strategies to contribute HR point of view to business issues Utilizes workforce analytics and insights to improve people and workforce management  Collaborates on a regular basis with HR COEs and HR Services on design and execution of solutions and service delivery to internal customers Implements strategic initiatives and other enterprise-wide initiatives and HR programs to support Alcon associates, including compensation, performance, employee relations and engagement, culture, and talent development initiatives Member of the Cluster Leadership team Budget responsibilities and liaising with external benefit providers

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Education – Master’s degree preferred in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of years and education of directly related experience.

Work Experience - Significant and trusted experience as HR Professional in a complex matrix environment with successful track record of partnering with business at all levels of the organization

5+ years’ of experience Experience in a global / multi-cultural environment. High cultural agility. Good understanding of Danish employment law Understanding of employment legislation in Norway, Finland, Sweden, will be a strong plus.

Business Insights - Ability to understand business drivers and how organizational strategy relates to human capital strategy.

Coaching – Can coach and influence people leaders and teams, using data, trends (internal & external) and perspectives to drive alignment, ownership and improved decision making and actions needed to move the business, people strategies or personal performance forward.

Decision Quality - Ability to identify and leverage data to make informed human capital decisions as well as influence the business. Relies on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement when making decisions. Considers all relevant factors and uses appropriate decision-making criteria and principles.

Collaborates – Actively participates in and supports a collaborative team environment. Role model for Alcon V&Bs.

Plans and Aligns – Effectively manage multiple projects/cases with competing priorities and changing expectations. Sets objectives to align with broader organizational goals. Stages activities with relevant milestones and schedules.

Communicates Effectively - Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills with ability to express thoughts in a clear and concise manner. Attentively listen to others.
