The Test Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing procedures to ensure the quality and performance of Teradyne Robotics products. This role involves working closely with design engineers, product managers, quality assurance teams as well as external suppliers to create effective and efficient test plans, develop automated testing scripts, and analyze test results to identify issues and ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product specifications and requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product functionalities and user needs. Test Design and Development: Design and develop automated test scripts using appropriate tools and languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#). Create and maintain test environments to simulate real-world scenarios and conditions. Develop test fixtures and test setups for hardware products. Test Execution and Analysis: Execute manual and automated tests, ensuring thorough coverage of product functionalities. Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues. Provide detailed test reports, highlighting defects, performance metrics, and areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance product quality and testing efficiency. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in test engineering. Documentation and Reporting: Document test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results. Prepare and present test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure alignment on testing goals and product quality standards. Participate in design and code reviews to provide testability feedback.

For you to have success in the position as a Test Development Engineer at UR we imagine you have the following experience and skills:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 5+ years of experience in product or test development, quality assurance, or a related engineering role Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Experience with Data Analysis and Statistical Process Control Methods Familiarity with hardware testing at multiple levels from PCBA up through System Level Test. PCBA Testing includes Automated Inspection methods, In-Circuit Test and Functional Test Strong understanding of software development life cycles and agile methodologies.

Furthermore, we are looking for excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and effective communication abilities.

Preferred qualifications:

Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware testing Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) Familiarity with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems

We offer you an office environment with regular lab work for hardware testing and production support. The role requires occasional travel to other locations (locally or internationally) within the company or to external supplier facilities.
