IMS (International Media Support) is an international non-profit organisation working across four continents for freedom of press and expression. Our staff of around 120 employees of more than 30 different nationalities work from IMS Headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as from regional country offices around the world. With a continued focus on diversity of staff we aim to attract, employ and retain highly qualified media professionals from around the globe.  

For this we need a HR Assistant to support our people managers in recruitment and onboarding of their teams. You will work closely with a team of passionate colleagues in designing processes for how we staff, onboard, develop, motivate, retain and organize people and teams in IMS.

The HR Unit is part of FIRE Department (Finance and Resources Department)  where you will be part of a dynamic and diverse work environment with enthusiastic and skilled colleagues.  

Key functions 

Recruitment of new staff for both HQ and the country offices Drafting employment contracts HQ and country offices Assist in processes around the yearly Salary Negotiations, Workplace assessment and Employee Development Interviews.   Ensuring on-boarding for all new employees Maintenance of staff handbook and policies Various ad hoc tasks

Qualifications

As HR assistant you communicate well and know how to move people. It is important that you can navigate in chaos / fast-paced and dynamic environment and that you can standardise processes and add structure. You understand HR as a staff function supporting IMS programmes which is why you are service minded and positive. You have your own opinions and you are not afraid of bringing input and good ideas. You have minimum 2-3 years’ experience from a similar position and an education supporting your HR experience. You are a strong communicator in English as English is the business language of IMS. You are an experienced user of MS office. Experience with Talent Tech Recruitment and Onboarding systems is an advantage.

Duration and location 

The position is 37 hours/week. We allow flextime, and we are open to staff occasionally working from home. The position is time limited for a 2-year period with the posibility of extension. There is a three-month trial period. Compensation commensurate with experience and IMS policies. Your workplace will be IMS HQ in Copenhagen. 

Organisation

You will report to the Head of the HR Unit.
