IMS (International Media Support) is a Copenhagen based international NGO that works with partners to support independent journalism, freedom of expression and the safety of journalists in countries affected by conflict, humanitarian crisis, political transition and authoritarian rule. Founded in 2001, the organisation has grown to become one of the leading actors in its field worldwide, with work in more than 40 countries.

The Knowledge Management Adviser/SharePoint Architect is part of the Gender, Organisational Learning and Development (GOLD) Team, that provides institutional support to programme teams, cross-cutting units and management in the roll-out of best practices, learning and development.
Job summary
IMS is seeking an experienced, dedicated Knowledge Management Adviser/SharePoint Architect to be responsible for the development and implementation of knowledge management processes and procedures across the organisation, maintaining and developing IMS’ intranet platform and providing guidance and training to new and current IMS staff.
Key functions and key responsibilities
Develop and implement knowledge management processes and procedures to ensure that IMS staff have access to the information they need to perform their jobs effectively Maintain and further develop IMS’ SharePoint platform, including sites and workflows Introduce and train new and current staff on IMS’ SharePoint modalities and knowledge management practices Work closely with departments, programme teams and cross cutting units to understand their knowledge management and collaboration needs and develop relevant and workable solutions Administer and maintain classified and unclassified SharePoint websites Monitor and analyse existing business processes, information storage and workflows, control procedures and identify opportunities for improvements (including relevant automatization) in the collaboration and data handling systemsQualifications and skills
Proven track record (minimum 3-5 years) working as a systems architect, developer or similar Solid knowledge and understanding of web-based information sharing tools Basic understanding of SharePoint customization and configuration Ability to create products and presentations that communicate ideas effectively and concisely Excellent command of spoken and written English (French and/or Arabic is an asset) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to understand and support needs in different parts of the organisation Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, turning needs into workable solutions Experience with project and process management Knowledge of the international development sector is an assetPersonal Skills
Strong interdisciplinary and intercultural team-working skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team Ability to plan and organise complex tasks and meet targets Open minded and flexible to changing prioritiesDuration and location

You will report to the Head of Gender, Organisational Learning and Development, and work closely with all of IMS’ Departments and cross-cutting units, including colleagues in IMS’ offices in programme countries.
