We are looking for a proactive candidate who is motivated to help us shape Carlsberg’s long-term portfolio through innovative research to create novel beverages for our consumers.

 

The position is time-limited: 3 years.

 

The Department:

The New Ingredients platform is one of four platforms in the Carlsberg Research Laboratory and is primarily focused on driving the top-line growth of the business via innovative research. The platform has capabilities in plant development, ingredient functionalisation, scouting & prototyping, analytics, and pre-commercial validation through the Experimental Brew Club.

  

What you’ll be doing

The selected candidate will join a team of six responsible for scouting and prototyping activities within the platform.

 

As a Scientist your task will be to execute all project deliverables in a structured and timely manner, as well as apply your capabilities and expertise in other relevant projects as appropriate.

 

You will bring strong scientific insights to the team and use them to drive our research successfully to completion.

 

What we’re looking for

 

The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in a Food/Beverage-related field coupled with 2 – 3 years of work experience.

 

In addition, we expect you to bring some of the following skills and capabilities to the project and team:

  • Experience in hypothesis development and testing, experimental design, and project management are essential for this role
  • An open and creative mindset
  • A collaborative spirit and a can-do attitude
  • A deep scientific knowledge of natural ingredients and their potential applications
  • Good understanding of beer brewing and ingredients
  • Good communication, presentation, stakeholder, and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with experience working across functions
  • Good knowledge of data analysis using various statistical tools.
