The Danish branch (DNB Denmark) serves corporate customers in the bank's strategic business areas as well as a smaller – but growing - number of private customers within car financing.


DNB is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel for a newly established function in DNB Denmark, where you will play an important part in DNB's continued growth in the Danish market.

Main areas of responsibility

  • Support and provide legal advice to client teams in relation to Danish transactions.
  • Advise and provide insight into the Danish banking regulatory landscape (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, leasing regulation etc.) as well as other legal issues that may affect DNB globally (including Head Office, Norway).
  • Handle key aspects of legal compliance with applicable Danish banking regulations.
  • Work closely with Business Unit heads and Head of Compliance in regards to interpreting and implementing legal/regulatory changes.
  • Develop and draft standard documentation, policies, guidelines and procedures to reflect local legal requirements.
  • Manage effectively and efficiently outside Danish counsel, minimizing costs without increasing legal risks.
  • Manage or participate in applicable projects undertaken to meet legal, regulatory or DNB Group requirements.
Required professional experience

  • Danish law degree.
  • Minimum 5+ years of legal and regulatory/compliance experience working at a. financial institution, a governmental or regulatory authority and/or at a law firm.
  • Firm understanding of commercial banking products, transactions and services including Danish banking laws and regulations relevant thereto.
  • Knowledge of Danish Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations is a plus.
  • Desire and enthusiasm to develop indepth knowledge of lending and corporate finance transactions.
  • Ability to collaborate with Head Office and advise on Danish law.
