Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is looking for an experienced Associate to join the Flagship Fund Team in Seoul, Korea.
The Flagship Fund (FF) Investment Team in Seoul
Joining the Flagship Fund Investment Team in Seoul, you will contribute to the development, structuring and execution of investments in greenfield renewable energy infrastructure projects in Korea, Japan and Taiwan where Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners see scale, growth, and liquidity.
You will work closely together with a highly experienced team across the APAC region in a high-pace dynamic and truly global environment.
The Position
Based in Seoul, you will as part of the investment team be assigned to one or more specific investment opportunities being pursued by The Flagship Fund in the APAC region. While the focus of the Seoul investment team is investments in Korea, you will also be expected to work on investments in Japan and Taiwan as required.
Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:
1. Manage work-streams that form part of investment due diligence, project development & financing, investment approval and divestment processes.
2. Support the structuring and negotiation of key transaction documentation.
3. Development and management of financial models and review of economic and financial assumptions.
4. Research in relation to counterparties, markets and assets.
5. Working with and managing external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical to execute investments.
6. Development of analysis and high-quality presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders.
7. Mentor analysts and secure the quality of their deliverables.
The work is project driven and will involve all aspects of the infrastructure investment process including sourcing and acquisition, project development, financing and exits/divestments.
The successful candidate
The work environment at CIP is fast paced, stimulating, global and demanding. We are therefore looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical professional holding a relevant degree within Economics, Finance, Business, or other related fields and, ideally, 1-2 years of work experience in a similar position.
Key qualifications include:
• Be a team player with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills and very strong attention to detail.
• Corporate finance knowledge, particularly in terms of valuation and financial modelling, with exposure to project finance preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Korean. Japanese business level skills would be considered a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure and take on responsibility.
• Substantial experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with energy or infrastructure is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• A self-starter attitude with tenacity, initiative and a willingness to commit to deliver the required results.
