Engineer positions to commission, operate and maintain multi-robot gantry systems

SDU Center for Large Structure Production (LSP), part of the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), is looking for Engineers to operate and maintain multi-robot gantry systems. The positions will be available from June 1, 2024. The main work location is Odense, Denmark, at SDU and Odense Port.
- Work Environment:
The candidate will join SDU's Center for Large Structure Production (LSP), aimed at providing a lab for companies in the maritime, construction, and energy sectors to conduct research and testing of innovative solutions for large structures like buildings, ships, and offshore platforms. LSP collaborates closely with companies at Odense Port and partners across Denmark and Europe, as well as the Odense Robotics Cluster, focusing on robotics solutions.
The team consists of approximately 15 researchers and engineers specializing in robot technologies for industrial applications. They work on national and European projects, emphasizing teamwork, professionalism, enthusiasm for robotics, and continuous skill development.
- Job Description:
The candidate will be involved in commissioning, operating, and maintaining LSP's multi-robot gantry system and other robot and sensor equipment. They will work closely with researchers and industrial partners to develop expertise in robotic production operations.
- Profile and Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Engineer or technician education
- Experience with industrial robots
- PLC programming skills
- Strong programming abilities in C/C++ and Python
- Ability to work independently in a team setting
They must be willing to engage in R&D projects in collaboration with companies. Application deadline is May 20, 2024.
