Are you an experienced Retailer who is motivated to advance an international retail portfolio? The newly created role of Director for Retail Excellence will oversee critical functions that enhance Bang & Olufsen's retail performance and in-store customer experience globally.

Your scope will encompass both a vast global network of partner operated stores, as well as Bang & Olufsen's owned and managed stores in key cities around the world.

This is a pivotal role to accelerate the execution of our global retail strategy, optimising customer experience, retail operations, and ensuring alignment with brand values and goals. You will be a member of the Global Retail management team, reporting directly to the VP of Global Retail, and will work in close partnership with the Global Sales organization and other functions across B&O.

Key responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the development and refinement of retail initiatives that enhance B&O's positioning as a luxury brand, in alignment with the Luxury Timeless Technology strategy.
  2. Refine the framework and deploy in all directly operated B&O stores globally to ensure maximum performance (revenues, EBIT), reduce staff turnover and ensure high-level retail excellence.
  3. Manage the retail footprint according to strategy: monthly tracking and alignment with regions on the network development. Guide expected revenue growth and manage store opening schedule.
  4. Develop a robust step-by-step process for store opening to assist the regions in finding the right location all the way through ensuring a smooth opening (coordination of VM, Training, events…).
  5. Consult and advise senior leadership to support the retail acceleration strategy.
  6. Oversee a team of experts within Brand Compliance, Retail Operations, Retail Execution, and Retail Experience.
  7. In close partnership with international sales teams, enhance the application of our framework of retail policies, procedures, and KPI's with the purpose of maximizing retail sales profitability, improving in-store customer experience and supporting our luxury brand positioning.
  8. Promote a customer centric culture in stores and through cross functional relationships.
  9. Champion an aligned global communication approach towards retail partners and oversee the implementation.
  10. Effectively collaborate, persuade, coach and motivate direct reports and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure we meet our Retail Excellence goals by delivering remarkable experiences to our customers.

What you bring

We are seeking an experienced retailer, with experience both in luxury and international retail. The ideal candidate will have a combination of direct P&L management of a retail network, as well as experience leading retail operations and excellence programs internationally.

Moreover, you bring:

  1. Experience in overseeing and developing large retail network (directly operated stores and franchises).
  2. Experience in retail sales and/or regional retail management expertise.
  3. Strong ability to present and interact with regional market leaders as well as partners.
  4. Consistently delivering cross-functional initiatives on time and within scope.
  5. Interest in customer experience and adherence to B&O' brand values.
  6. Comprehensive skills in Excel, modelling and commercial financial skills.
  7. Effectively communicates the 'why' and inspires others to be agents of change.
  8. Creates the right conditions for effective teamwork; motivates, inspires, and empowers team and holds self & others accountable.
  9. Strong ability to interface with all levels and areas of the organization, establish close working relationships, and build consensus and support for improvement opportunities.
  10. Ability to initiate change without authority and steer modifications across multiple functions in a continually changing setting.
  11. Skilled at navigating ambiguity and handles evolving tasks with efficiency.
  12. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.

What we offer

Reporting to the VP Global Retail, this position will oversee a team across Retail Operations, Retail Communication and Retail Experience/Execution.

The retail team is based in our Lyngby (Denmark) offices. This position will collaborate regularly with stakeholders in head office such as Marketing, Store Design & VM, Product Merchandising, Finance, as well as internationally with Retail and Training teams.

Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package.

Travel: Approx. 20%, frequent travel to markets and store visits required.
