Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Veo group Full time

Veo is a global leader in AI-based sports camera technology. Our innovative, fully automatic camera solution enables sports teams to record matches and training sessions without a camera operator. We're democratizing the world of sports by granting video analysis for teams on all levels—a privilege that used to be only for the few. More than 40,000 clubs in 90+ countries record their games every week.

But what truly sets us apart? Our people. We're a diverse group of innovative thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers who believe in delivering an incredible product—and having fun while doing it.

The heart of this technology is our camera technology, which serves as the capture platform for all downstream value we create for our customers, whether it is AI analytics or recorded memories that turn into valued memories for our customers. Firmware and video pipeline teams will ensure the encoding is state-of-the-art and handle the video all the way to the final decoding by our customers. Our AI and cloud teams will process the stream with our AI models, which we are proud to say are preeminent in the industry in our field and enable both players and coaches to see detailed statistics of goals, ball possession, passes, and lots of other data - the possibilities here are close to endless.

You

Even when we don't have specific openings, we welcome unsolicited applications from Camera/Optics Engineers who are not just skilled but exceptional—those with extensive experience in their field and motivated to deliver breakthrough solutions within Lens technology, image sensor technology, and ISP. We are assembling an industry-leading team of skilled engineers, all coming to work motivated to make the best work of our lives here. We already have two highly proficient Camera Module engineers, but we can't get enough.

Right next to you will be hardware and video pipeline software engineers, so we don't expect you to be an expert in those fields. You will still have to interface with those worlds, though, and therefore have the opportunity to gain experience with both domains.

You have at least 5 years of industry experience working on camera systems, advanced knowledge of solving the usual day-to-day problems in such a system, and a willingness to delve into new territory regarding new encoding, calibration, image sensor tuning, video pipelines, and camera module design.

We are looking for someone with seniority in their field who can initiate larger initiatives on the camera/optics front, involving stakeholders from relevant production, hardware, and video-pipeline teams, and be confident in defining camera systems and seeing them through mass production.

Desired skill set:
  1. Theoretical level to understand and implement technologies from the latest papers and create conceptual synergies with the other engineering fields needed to make cutting-edge AI sport cameras. You should keep yourself updated on all relevant technologies useful for our optical development at Veo. You will be responsible for keeping us ahead of the competition on optics.
  2. Capable simulator in tools such as Blender or Zemax to make high-quality evaluations of tradeoffs in camera systems tailor-made to the Veo use cases.
  3. Project Manage your inventions through to completion. We will support you along the way, to carry your visions through to an end product.
  4. Leadership of failure analysis and corrective action implementation at manufacturing sites, including assembly processes, testing, and calibration; parametric-data analysis of end-of-line yield and post-reliability failures.
  5. Test and validate samples and prototypes from our optical partners to find improvement areas and define tolerance windows ensuring consistently good video quality for our customers.
Environment/Language/Tools/Platforms:
  • Blender
  • Ima-test
  • Ansys Zemax
What we offer:
  • A great modern workplace at the forefront of technological innovation in its field, with international colleagues (44 nationalities to be exact) and a flat organization where everyone will be heard.
  • Possibility to work at the intersection of embedded, AI and cloud.
  • Big focus on employee well-being and culture.
  • Young, energetic, tech-savvy, and motivated organization - there are no boring days at Veo
  • Superskilled colleagues from all engineering areas needed to make AI Sports Cameras and the associated software services on top of media pipelines. We also in-house the manufacturing to be able to deliver quality from end-to-end - new features don't matter much if the core quality doesn't deliver.
  • Choose your own setup: Got a thing for a certain niche keyboard? No problem, we've got you covered - we don't challenge equipment wishes.
  • You have the freedom to find creative ways and the best solutions to problems.
  • Meaningful work that makes a real difference in the world of sports.
  • Level up your career Career path tracks for all developers that enable you to develop and grow.
  • In-house table tennis, dart, football, and basketball field, where employees usually have a quick game after lunch.
  • In-house gym for doing that healthy morning routine or working on that chest press PR of yours after work.

Our Copenhagen office mirrors our innovative technology – with an indoor ball court, rooftop terrace, and well-equipped gym. We have created a facility that supports connecting disciplines across the business, facilitates creative thinking, and gives the space to engage with colleagues, our global partners, and the entire Veo community.

We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, even if your experience doesn't completely match every qualification listed. What matters most is your creativity, potential, and ability to contribute meaningfully.
