Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Medical Imaging)

Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies for our medical imaging products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including optical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems into the medical imaging devices. This role requires experience in mechanical design, with a particular emphasis on camera technology and imaging systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for medical imaging devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the optical, electrical, and software teams to integrate mechanical designs into functional prototypes and final products.
  • Work with 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks or CATIA) to create detailed models and engineering drawings.
  • Ensure that designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical solutions to mechanical design challenges.
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation processes to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Develop prototypes and test systems to validate the functionality of mechanical designs.
  • Support the transition of designs to manufacturing and provide ongoing engineering support during the production phase.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering, medical imaging, and camera technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the medical device or imaging industry.
  • Strong experience with camera systems and imaging technologies, including optical components, sensors, and camera integration.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations, including ISO 13485, and understanding of product development life cycles in regulated industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of optical systems, sensors, and their integration into imaging devices.
  • Experience in the development of diagnostic or medical imaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical device validation and testing procedures.
