As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Product Solutions & Integration is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmap in response to market roadmap requirements, translating product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full value chain integration. Loads and Control (LaC), as part of Product Solutions & Integration, is responsible for designing and optimizing the product for load and control strategy together with cross product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, well-experienced engineers who are taking accountability for all aspects of the LaC solution delivered to the Products which are placed across 3 design locations: Portugal, Denmark, and India.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks will focus on power curve validation efforts and will include:
  • Reviewing power performance test plans and results.
  • Performing technical root cause analysis to explain performance deviations and coordinating RCA efforts in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzing the controller's performance deviation, leading to underperformance of the power curve, and pinpointing the specific control driver responsible.
  • Providing statistical analysis with critical thinking skills to ensure scrutiny of data solutions before rollout.
  • Addressing any troubleshooting needs by leveraging insights from networking with people and demonstrating proficiency in comprehending intricate electrical, mechanical, load & control, and sensor systems.
  • Being a good team member in a global environment with a geographically dispersed and multicultural team.


Qualifications
  • Have a relevant technical education, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or any other related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in the wind industry, specifically in controller tuning, SCADA data analysis, and prototype power curve verification testing.
  • Strong understanding of turbine operations & controller performance.
  • Knowledge about controller tuning, software rollout, and coding (mainly R and Python) is highly beneficial.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with good communication skills for effectively presenting and discussing results with stakeholders.

  • Good exposure to MATLAB, SIMULINK Tools, C++, and Data analysis.
  • Enthusiastic team member with an internationally oriented mindset.
  • Maintain a customer focus by identifying relevant stakeholders and interfaces.
  • Work effectively in a time-sensitive situation and maintain a complete overview.
  • Fluent communication in English is imperative - both oral and written.
  • Communicate with engagement and enthusiasm.
