Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the Green Transition

Based in Copenhagen, Nordic RCC embodies a strong Nordic collaboration across the Nordics TSOs (Energinet, Statnett, Fingrid and Svenska Kraftnät) and other European Regional Coordination Centers. In this collaboration, we empower the energy market in the Nordics and in Europe, as well as assist the TSOs in maintaining a reliable power supply now and in the future.

Nordic RCC contributes to safe operation of the Nordic power system and to optimize the power market domain. A key aim of the services provided by Nordic RCC is to ensure transparency and help the TSOs with operational planning to ensure continued security of supply with an increase of renewables in the system.

We are looking for a Kubernetes/Infrastructure Specialist who likes to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

Kubernetes is becoming the leading platform for Nordic RCC, and we are focused on enhancing our internal expertise in this area. In this position, you will utilize your extensive experience with Kubernetes on Rancher management, working closely with our service provider to design, plan, maintain, and enhance our containerized environments. Furthermore, you will work alongside internal teams to oversee and improve the overall IT infrastructure, ensuring it adequately supports business functions.

  • Contribute to strategies, policies and controls to secure solutions and operational environments.
  • Oversee the infrastructure and platforms used by the organization, including enabling the monitoring of technology solutions delivered within the organization and external service providers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and plan complex IT infrastructure solutions that meet the company's current and future needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Review and manage active risks and respond to security threats in collaboration with our outsourcing partner.
  • Provision technology infrastructure and platforms needed to support technology services and business needs.
  • Maintain infrastructure & platform configurations through maintenance, patching and improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and optimization of IT infrastructure and systems, and lead initiatives to implement changes that enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Efficiently and effectively deliver technical components, including Kubernetes and traditional platform technologies.
  • Provide business support and ensure business issues and concerns are addressed.
  • Ensure end-to-end security of technology assets, data, and product capabilities.
  • Create and maintain documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures, and provide regular reports and updates to management on the status of infrastructure projects and initiatives.

Your work responsibilities and scope of work will develop over time as Nordic RCC develops and as you make your influence. You will work together with the Team Manager to structure the role, so it fits your profile and career development.

Minimum Requirements

Ideally, you have an IT-related education and +5 years of experience within enterprise Kubernetes and infrastructure environments. Fluency in spoken and written English is required as well as a motivation for working in an international environment.

Other Key Skills Are
  • Knowledge of the energy or regulated sector is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
  • Ability to recognize challenges early and proactively seek solutions.
