Within Group Internal Audit we are responsible for executing the forensic investigations related to allegations of fraud and/or misconduct, we also support the business with guidance, training, and advice.
The Senior Investigations Manager will be responsible for independently conducting and managing investigation activities related to alleged ethics and compliance policy violations. This position will partner closely with Legal & Compliance and HR colleagues and other internal stakeholders within the markets, corporate office and other lines of business. External relationships include interaction with outside counsel, external vendors and industry peers.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct and lead internal investigations of suspected violations of corporate policies and/or laws related to fraud with the expected level of quality and within set lead time KPIs.
- Oversee the investigation planning, execution, forensic report writing and documenting. Prepare clear, comprehensive and cohesive investigative reports in a timely manner.
- Present facts and trends to aid in the assessment of appropriate remediation measures in closed investigations, including analysis of root causes and suggested corrective strategies.
- Provide effective recommendations and solutions to identified issues; ensure business agreement and tracking of defined actions.
- Maintain existing SpeakUp channels and establish new channels, where necessary.
- Maintain and further develop the SpeakUp Manual, SpeakUp Review Manual and other relevant internal guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with the EU Whistleblowing Directive and other relevant legislation.
- Train and coach the first and the second line defense and local investigators in fraud-related areas.
- Drive SpeakUp and GIA initiatives and projects including but not limited to strengthening internal controls in fraud-related areas, implementation of Fraud Management Framework, etc.
- Prepare quarterly reporting packages to AC and ExCom.
What we're looking for:
In terms of desired behaviours and soft skills, as a Senior Investigations Manager, you would be expected to:
- Demonstrate a high level of Integrity, Independence and Objectivity and act based on Carlsberg 3A values.
- Perform their work with professional scepticism in a detail-oriented manner in full confidentiality.
- Have good presentation and communication skills that would support them to be effective in conflict management and stakeholder and relationship management.
- Comply with Carlsberg Leadership Expectations and act as a role model given the visibility and content of their position.
In terms of technical skills, as a Senior Investigations Manager, you would be expected to:
- Conduct end-to-end investigations including all deliverables of appropriate quality on time and in compliance with ACFE standards of investigation which include:
- Managing the e-discovery tool using the admin level and handling non-complex issues faced by end-users.
- Comfortably performing hardware imaging remotely and overseeing the work of less experienced members performing this task.
- Creating the interview agenda that can lead to witness interviews and medium complexity subject interviews.
- Being aware of main databases and registrars in Carlsberg markets, knowing how to request information from public authorities, search subjects in various social media and build a bigger picture based on the results of the search.
- Delivering high-quality investigations and reports requiring a minimal number of changes/updates.
- Understanding and setting the expectations from the documentation for the entire cases, knowing where, what and when should be delivered and how stored.
- Reviewing the investigation file and assessing for completeness and sufficiency of documentation and evaluating the risks in case of lack of documentation.
- Acting as an independent reviewer of the investigation file and applying judgment in quality review.
- Understand the GRC concepts and their role in it and apply this knowledge effectively in daily operations.
- Be aware of regulatory requirements, their specific details and about the potential outcomes of non-compliance, e.g., GDPR, EU Whistleblower Directive, FCPA and UK BA, Competition, Trade Sanctions, Insider Trading, Criminal, Tax, EU Green Taxonomy, Sexual harassment, AML, etc.
- Understand the details of IFRS and know how to apply the main standards in practice. Demonstrates ability to assess compliance against the regulations.
- Work with structured and non-structured data, use advanced features in Data Analytics Applications, and understand concepts of scripting through VBA, DAX, SQL, Python or any other similar language.
- Make an effort to assess the population and apply judgment for sampling that corresponds to the process and case specifics.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of specific areas supported by functional relationships and act as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Be a proficient user of MS Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Be competent in SAP, Navision and other relevant ERPs and apps existing and widely used in the Carlsberg Group.
