Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune, Denmark COWI AS Full time

Do you want to work on some of the most high-profile infrastructure, utility, and urban development projects in the industry? Are you an engineer with several years of experience within drainage and climate adaptation? And can you solve complex technical drainage issues and step into the role as Specialist, Discipline Lead, or Project Manager? Then, this is the place to apply your knowledge and curiosity to enable a better tomorrow.

Turn challenges into sustainable solutions
To help us shape the green transition and strengthen our team within drainage, we are looking for experienced Drainage Engineers, Discipline Leads, Project Managers and Specialists to join our team and play an important role in creating the solutions of the future. We are 170 colleagues working alongside our customers on some of Denmark's most significant projects in the field of drainage. And we are thrilled to have contributed to projects like a new 8 km underground cloudburst tunnel, Folemarksvej underground basin of 12.000 m³, The town of Nye designed with a sustainable drainage solution, designing a 3.600 m³ basin storage under an existing stadium in Copenhagen and several framework agreements around the country etc.

Your key activities will be:

  • Lead and facilitate projects within e.g., designing climate adaption of drainage and sewer systems, development of integrated urban drainage solutions and resilient and sustainable drainage systems etc.
  • Dive into technical solutions within water and climate adaption such as:
  • Management of surface stormwater on terrain integrated in design of blue-green solutions, rain beds, SUDS, open and underground stormwater basins etc.
  • Renovation and design of overflow structures, underground wastewater basins, pumpstations, offshore projects, stormwater tunnels etc.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues across COWI (e.g., landscape, road, rail, construction, port construction etc.)
  • Convey your knowledge to junior colleagues and the rest of the team

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with at least one discipline in drainage (e.g. designing of pipes, climate adaptation, pumping stations, offshore pipelines or similar) or other similar professional skills as Specialist, Discipline Lead or Project Manager
  • A degree in engineering
  • Knowledge in CAD-design tools
  • Flair for customer and contractor contact
  • Ability to work efficiently and structured
  • Advanced communication skills in both Danish and English - both oral and written

A place to work and so much more
At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world. We do it by applying our knowledge and curiosity – and sometimes even our courage – to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow. That is why we say no to fossil-based projects and aspire to have 100 per cent of our revenue come from activities that move our customers towards sustainability.

We value differences and development and cultivate an environment of belonging and having fun. Because that is what brings out the best in you, at work and at home.
