About the role
Maersk is going through times of unprecedented change. We are rethinking the way we engage with both customers and partners and have a bold ambition to decarbonize logistics.
The Maersk Decarbonization team aims to drive Maersk’s emissions to zero as fast as practically and commercially possible. Digital technologies—and StarConnect specifically—are a key enabler in this journey.
We are looking for an expert in vessel technical efficiency to drive digital solutions that empower vessels to produce energy at the lowest environmental footprint and cost at all times. Come join us in making the decarbonization agenda come to life
We Offer
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a multicultural and cross-functional team passionate about using technology to solve business and operational problems. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, utilizing modern technologies and agile software development methods. Additionally, you will engage with software engineers, our users on vessels and shore, as well as key stakeholders, and will influence outcomes in the sphere of energy and CO2 emissions optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- A subject matter expert is responsible for understanding business requirements, success metrics, and user pain points, as well as collaborating with cross-functional product teams to define solutions, solve business problems, and build amazing user experiences.
- You will operate in a scrum team with a dedicated product owner, independently directing your time and resources together with the software engineers in the team.
- Your responsibilities will cover researching business problems and objectives, user experiences, and needs, translating them into user stories, and ensuring requirements are sufficiently detailed so as to enable the team to deliver operationally feasible and high-quality solutions.
- Your key focus will be to safeguard that our solutions create value: driving technical energy efficiency on vessels, enabling effective fleet performance management, and providing benefits to users—both on vessels and in the office.
- You will support the team with testing to ensure the acceptance of the solutions, as well as assist with developing communication and training material.
- You will provide 3rd-level user support in domain-related matters, as well as train and mentor Level 2 support teams. You will be a “go-to” person for other teams and stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
- A colleague, as part of the SME-team, is: positive, supportive, curious, good listener, team player, fast learner, adaptive to new environments, open and direct communication, and appreciates candid feedback.
- A colleague that is: delivering results; strategic; analytical; creating an overview; prioritizing work; continuous improvement; and sharing learnings.
- A colleague with a technical foundation in: hydrodynamics; vessel performance; physics of energy efficiency optimization; on-board measurements; ship propulsion; machine learning within ship hydrodynamics; proof-of-concepts into products and tools; and experience in advanced data analysis.
