Your Future Team
You will become part of Internal Logistics. We are a diverse team with 6 different nationalities across 3 locations, mainly in Denmark and Poland. We have expertise in mechanical, electrical, automation and process engineering as well as project management.
What you will be doing
We are improving our factories by integrating a WCS (Warehouse Control System), based on the TrakSYS platform, so come and join our team as an automation engineer where you'll optimize and automate the flow of our semi-finished and finished products.
You will be a key contributor throughout various project phases, from conceptual studies to design, testing, commissioning and providing engineering support.
Your responsibilities include working with technologies such as automatic storage and retrieval systems, autonomous mobile robots, automated guided vehicles, utilization of identification and labelling technologies, truck loading and unloading solutions.
Additionally, you will actively take part in large-scale logistical global projects, with primary focus on Europe, Asia, and North America. Part of your job is traveling in Europe, and perhaps North America and Asia, meeting with your ROCKWOOL colleagues and suppliers, supervising the implementation of your projects. Expect to travel 60-80 days per year, with trips varying from a couple of days to a few weeks at a time. Know, however, that you will rarely be alone.
Your responsibilities are:
- Cover the automation scope for our intralogistics technologies.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and support software systems and utilize your ability in PLC, SCADA, and control systems.
- Head the lifecycle of one of our intralogistics technologies, from designing, testing (FAT), installation, commissioning (SAT), and provide all documentation.
- Communicate with suppliers and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs and aligned with our company automation design guidelines & standards.
- Participate in budgeting and crafting tender material for suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with internal clients and stakeholders to understand their technical needs and requirements, providing technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner up with colleagues such as IT, mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration with overall system functionality.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in intralogistics technology, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge base.
- Give your cheerful outlook to maintain our department as an inspiring and rewarding place to work by sharing knowledge, supporting your colleagues in their professional growth and participating in developing and executing department strategies.
What you bring
By nature, you are curious and initiative-taking in gathering relevant knowledge, examining, and solving problems. Being both quality- and result-oriented, you are eager to suggest solutions and get things done, though never at the expense of quality.
You prefer and collaborate well with others, no matter where they're from or what they do. Further, you're skilled at communicating and making justified decisions, progressing your own projects smoothly or your teams.
Being successful in this job role, we imagine that you have this experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on PLC programming experience. Advanced if within intralogistics solutions for the industry.
- Experience with Siemens Simatic Manager.
- Experience with Siemens TIA and WinCC version 7.5.
- Ability in critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Engaged collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English, and perhaps you know other languages too.
