About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Compliance and Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our company adheres to all legal standards and in-house policies, providing support on various compliance and legal matters.
Key responsibilities
- Compliance support: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs. Ensure the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Legal research: Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles. Provide summaries and recommendations based on findings.
- Corporate governance: Organize and coordinate board meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, manage statutory records, ensure compliance with legal requirements, facilitate board communication, oversee implementation of board decisions and policies, among other corporate governance tasks.
- Documentation management: Maintain and organize legal documents, contracts, and compliance records. Ensure all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Contract review: Assist in reviewing and drafting contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure they comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Training and education: Support the creation and delivery of compliance training programs for employees. Ensure staff members are aware of and understand compliance and legal requirements.
- Audit and monitoring: Assist in internal audits and monitoring activities to identify potential compliance risks. Work with the compliance team to implement corrective actions.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on compliance and legal activities for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the legal, compliance, and operational teams to ensure alignment of efforts and consistency in processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a compliance or legal assistant role, preferably in a FinTech or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the financial sector.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools
