Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark European Energy AS Full time

European Energy is a renewable company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team

You will be a part of quite a diverse department. Group Risk Management & Insurance covers everything from insurance to QHSE on to Claims and contingency/emergency response strategies and Risk Transfer. We are 11 colleagues in the team, most of us based in Copenhagen, but a few colleagues based in Southern Jutland, Northern Jutland, and the UK. We support each other across specialist areas, and we like to have a good laugh.

Our overall goal is to create a solid synergy across the company from timely risk analyses and insurance policy placing to a safe and well-choreographed operations phase, and finally insisting on constantly improving through evaluations and lessons learned. Thinking ahead and ensuring the most sustainable, safe, and continuous way of doing business possible is what connects all of our different fields. As a cross functional department, we work with almost all departments in the company – because our expertise and areas of work affects everything and everyone.

The QHSE team consists of four colleagues, located across three locations in Denmark, and now we are looking for the new manager for the team. QHSE links together with our strategy of conducting responsible business, and we want to do QHSE with dedicated commitment to follow the international, national, and local laws and industrial best practice.

Your new role

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the QHSE team, ensure that the team members are thriving and offer sparring, when needed. You will lead the QHSE function, implementing new processes and systems, and developing a long-term quality assurance strategy for the company, in collaboration with the leadership team.

More specifically:

  • You represent the company in customer interactions, ensuring understanding of expectations.
  • You take ownership of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities.
  • You establish and oversee Quality Management Systems on a global basis.
  • You inspire a positive HSE culture and provide comprehensive reporting to management.
  • You support key stakeholders in project activities, ensuring legislation adherence.
  • You develop robust Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • You prevent non-conformances, customer complaints, and rework implementing corrective actions.
Prerequisites to succeed in the job

You have extensive experience in leading (Q)HSE initiatives, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You have experience working in a matrix organisation, with a flexible approach to work, easily adapting to changing priorities. Ideally, you have previous experience leading a team and acting as a trusted sparring partner.

  • You have a relevant educational background, e.g. within Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or similar.
  • You have experience from a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • You hold a NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
  • You are able to identify, implement, and manage new and existing quality tools (e.g. DMIAC, PPAP, 8D, 5S).
  • You are a qualified lead auditor and have a strong understanding of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, and ISO45001:2018.
  • You are willing to participate in training and professional development to continuously enhance the QHSE expertise.
With us you get
  • The opportunity to work with various stakeholders across all departments and countries, and at all levels across European Energy.
  • We expect that the QHSE team will grow in the future, so there will be an opportunity to further enhance your leadership skills.
  • To be part of a rapidly growing company at the core of the green transition, and thereby be able to influence the direction for QHSE in the company.
  • The possibility to work in an entrepreneurial environment where gaining hands-on experience is encouraged, while at the same time, new ideas and proactivity are valued.
  • We make an effort to welcome you as our new colleague. We prepare individual onboarding plans for everyone, and you will be assigned a buddy prior to your first day.
