What will you do?

As our new Internal Controls Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our internal control systems are robust, effective, and compliant with industry standards and regulatory frameworks. With a focus on identifying risks and improving processes, this role collaborates across departments to strengthen accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

Your main tasks include:

  1. Evaluate and Enhance Internal Controls: Assess the effectiveness of existing controls, identify gaps, and propose practical solutions to address risks and improve processes.
  2. Risk Assessment and Documentation: Conduct risk assessments to identify financial, operational, and compliance exposures, and document workflows, processes, and control systems to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that control documentation aligns with industry and regulatory standards, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  4. Collaboration and Integration: Partner with process owners to embed controls into daily operations and work closely with external audit, finance, and operational teams to align strategies.
  5. Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to employees on internal control practices and assist external auditors by facilitating access to required documentation and information.

We are looking for a detail-oriented profile, who demonstrates strong organizational skills, works independently, maintains high ethical standards, and effectively manages multiple projects.

We think you will be a good match if you:
  1. Educational Background: Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or Business Administration.
  2. Additional Skills: Project Management and/or controls automation experience is a plus.
  3. Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and spoken English; Danish skills are advantageous.
  4. Work Experience: At least 3 years in auditing, financial analysis, or compliance roles.
  5. Technical Knowledge: Experience with risk assessment methodologies, control frameworks, and process documentation/testing.
