Do you want to become a part of a global procurement organization, where ambition is high, and you are empowered to make a real difference?
If yes, here is your opportunity to be a part of Global Procurement in Vestas, where you can set your footprint in the no. 1 company within sustainable energy
Manufacturing and Global Procurement > Global Procurement > Blades Structural Materials
The Blades Procurement Department is part of the overall Vestas Global Procurement Organisation. Blades Procurement is responsible for the management and development of the global supplier base within the Blades product area. The Department is split into 3 commodities with different system and materials responsibilities, where Blades Structural Materials are one of 2 material areas, covering Carbon, Core Materials, and Chemicals. The Blades procurement team is working in a matrix organization where colleagues are located in India, China, Portugal, Denmark, Brazil, Mexico, and the US. The procurement work within Vestas is managed through cross-functional teams in the context of Module and Category Management. Besides leading the cross-functional teams for the commodity, GP is responsible for developing the supply base short, medium & long term with a view to always be able to satisfy requirements (KPIs) regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost and thereby contribute actively to improving the high quality of the Group. All are targeted at optimizing the Total Cost of Ownership and thereby maximizing our value contribution to Vestas.
Responsibilities
- Global responsibility for the Carbon commodity in Vestas
- Lead, develop, and secure implementation of the global strategy for the Carbon commodity, in close collaboration with the cross-functional team as well as the regional sourcing responsible(s)
- Coordinate and promote the cross-functional commodity team meetings and performance
- Conduct and support Supplier Account Managers in supplier negotiations and contract implementation
- Responsible for selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting plus implementing projects with new, as well as existing suppliers in collaboration with the regional SR's
- Define and decide on next-generation materials to be used within the Carbon area
Qualifications
As a Commodity Specialist, you are expected to show a great example and challenge the organization in our ways of working. The right candidate for this role will have/be:
- A degree in either Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Engineering and holds a minimum of 5 years of work experience in Procurement knowledge
- Experience related to cross-functional collaboration (Category Management) is necessary
- Significant communication skills, including fluent English skills are required
- Knowledge related to Carbon Fiber or related industries and materials is welcomed
- Advanced skills in PPT, Excel & Word are necessary
- Desire and ability to supervise (projects, suppliers, stakeholders)
- A structured and fact-based approach to ensure that the strategy and initiatives are prioritized and implemented
- A mindset as a team member, with the ability to guide the team and secure joint team decisions and an open, constructive team dialogue
- A holistic and positive mindset: you are able to see the big picture from Vestas' product offerings towards customers and the ability to connect these to supplier offerings and how they can positively impact Vestas sales and cost-out programs
- Ability to work in an innovative and at times, unpredictable environment and solid analytical skills with a natural ability to determine the core of the problem to be solved
- A desire and wish to improve and change the status quo, and a solution-oriented mindset - as the key goal is to determine the solution, not the problem evaluating analytical inputs and translating them into a clear negotiation position and arguments
What we offer
We offer you an exciting and challenging job with excellent opportunities for professional and personal development within the global leader in the renewable energy sector. The position offers a unique opportunity to lead and for you to put your mark on an essential area in Vestas. You will be an integral part of a highly professional, international, diverse team with strong team spirit and a 'can-do' attitude who are keen to make a difference. Through global responsibility then the position offers a natural stepping stone for further career development within Vestas.
