Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Plant Monitoring & Reliability

The Plant Monitoring & Reliability Sub module is responsible for the products and services related to Vestas Monitoring and Reliability solutions and offerings. We have a skilled and diverse team that consists of everything from Health Monitoring Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. The department is responsible for developing innovative Plant Monitoring Products & Solutions, including Health Monitoring, Condition Monitoring, Power Quality Monitoring and Reliability data Products & Data Analytics solutions. This ranges across data collection from thousands of power plants for Health Monitoring & Reliability reporting for multiple stakeholders and end customers. The goal is to bring down the cost of energy by leveraging the vast amount of health monitoring data Vestas collects and stores from power plants around the globe.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Engineer in Condition Monitoring Systems, your responsibilities will be to:

  1. Develop and implement back-end infrastructure systems and processes
  2. Coordinate the roll-out, information sharing, and embracement of the product within the company
  3. Work on CMS development Projects based on the requirements. You will be responsible for industrialising the CMS product to the WTG platform needs.
  4. Develop and improve data collection tools, data quality, methods, and processes, while establishing training materials and troubleshooting user guides for various stakeholders
  5. Support Vestas value chain stakeholders & the CMS organization with data analysis, RCA and technical advice
  6. Collect customer feedback, develop case stories, and maintain best practices through close engagement with CMS vendors while continuously steering product development requirements
  7. Preferred expert understanding of the TCM CMS System (tcm.kkwindsolutions.com)
Qualifications
  1. Master's in IT Systems/IoT Systems/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
  2. Minimum of 3+ years of relevant system Integration experience, TCM CMS Systems is an advantage
  3. Knowledge of remote monitoring and diagnostics processes and how they work
  4. Skilled in IT systems integration, ideally with experience in CMS systems, and knowledgeable in IT security, network architecture, and IoT systems
  5. Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or similar, with solid working knowledge of database tools like MS-SQL
  6. Possess solid statistical aptitude & data crunching ability, data mining ability
  7. Knowledge of DMAIC Six Sigma Methodology
Competencies
  1. Ability to interface with diverse groups (scientific teams, developers, business users) and understand end-to-end requirements
  2. Solid written and oral presentation and communication skills
  3. Self-driven, ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and complete assigned projects with minimal supervision
  4. Systematic problem-solving skills with a solid sense of ownership
  5. Aptitude to learn new methods and technologies separately and continuously
