Lead Engineer, GenAI Tech Enablement

København, Denmark LEGO Gruppe Full time

Job Description

Working at the LEGO Group Generative AI Tech Enablement team is a hugely exciting experience and a superb opportunity. To work with innovative front-end technology in a diverse and upbeat engineering team. We are passionate about empowering developers with the vital resources, tools, and mentorship they need to harness the full potential of technologies – and we like to have fun along the way

Core Responsibilities

Come be responsible for leading hands-on design and development of the LEGO Group's GenAI platform, including crafting a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with strategic objectives. Work closely with key partners to see opportunities and drive value realization from the platform. Ensure the platform's reliability, security, compliance, and scalability, proactively addressing operational challenges, hardening security, and optimizing performance.

  • Technical Leadership: Inspire innovation within the engineering team by setting a clear technical direction and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, performing code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and promoting standard methodologies to maintain high-quality work.
  • Operational Ownership: Take a hands-on role in solving operational issues, addressing performance bottlenecks, and enhancing the platform’s overall security posture.
  • The role requires hands-on development in OOP and IaC languages.
Play your part in our team succeeding.

At The LEGO Group, our GenAI Tech Enablement Team is at the forefront of crafting and deploying scalable GenAI solutions, tailored to address the LEGO Group needs. With a vision anchored in innovation and scalability, we design service offerings that empower departments across the enterprise to harness the potential of GenAI.

Our mission is to empower developers with the vital resources, tools, and mentorship they need to harness the full potential of our products, technologies, or platforms. This translates into a multitude of responsibilities, ranging from technical advocacy to content creation, ensuring developers have access to top-tier, educational materials.

We also pride ourselves on our community building, establishing a vibrant ecosystem of developers, and forging strategic partnerships that drive mutual growth. Our collaborative approach ensures that every solution is not only technically sound but also aligns seamlessly with business objectives.

The team is based in the new LEGO Digital Office in Copenhagen, offering an exciting, inspiring, and flexible work environment – and a little fun play as well

Do you have what it takes?

The preferred candidate has extensive hands-on experience in building large-scale, distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. They should possess high proficiency in OOP languages e.g. Python, and asynchronous web services. Demonstrated solid hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as AWS ECS, EKS, and Fargate. Additionally, they bring deep expertise in Generative AI frameworks and libraries such as LangChain, OpenAI, AutoGen and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), along with solid experience using modern cloud-based services from major providers like AWS or Azure.

They have shown proficiency in designing and implementing microservices, handling APIs (OpenAPIs), and building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, applying Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), while adhering to industry standard methodologies in testing. Beyond their technical skills, the candidate demonstrates interpersonal and communication abilities, excelling in mentoring and guiding junior engineers. They are adept at simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse internal and external collaborators and exhibit a collaborative mentality, effectively driving technical and strategic objectives across multifaceted teams.

To succeed in this role, you preferably have competence within the following:

  • Degree (preferably Master) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering.
  • 6–12 months of experience working with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, prompt engineering, and/or Generative AI use cases.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and responsible AI practices.
  • Understanding of the underlying mathematics of foundational models and their limitations in different prompt scenarios.

Please note: If you require any reasonable accommodations or adjustments throughout the application process, please let us know. We will work with you to meet your needs.
