About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Formalize. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading the month-end closing and reporting process, working with external finance consultants to improve and optimize our financial setup, and managing our billing and collections process to improve our cash collection cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Own the month-end closing and reporting process to ensure accurate and timely financial information
  • Work with external finance consultants to improve and optimize our financial setup, including bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and management reporting
  • Manage our billing and collections process to improve our cash collection cycle and reduce days sales outstanding
  • Consistently automate manual day-to-day finance tasks to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Liaise with auditors and third-party advisors to deliver tax returns, global tax compliance, and complete our annual reports
  • Run special projects such as opening local subsidiaries, automating processes, and improving financial processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Proven experience in billing, payments, and accounts receivables management, preferably with experience in bookkeeping/accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with tools similar to our tech stack (E-conomics, HubSpot, ChargeBee) is a plus
  • Growth mindset, eagerness to learn, and strong curiosity with a detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities
