We are seeking a skilled science communicator to join our team at the Department of Food Science, Aarhus University. As a communications specialist, you will play a key role in turning our scientific results into engaging content for the general public.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences through various channels, including social media, press releases, and public events.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the department's research and achievements.
- Collaborate with researchers, scientists, and other stakeholders to identify and develop compelling stories and content.
- Write and edit engaging content, including press releases, articles, and social media posts, to showcase the department's research and expertise.
- Manage and maintain the department's social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and analyzing engagement metrics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and other key stakeholders to secure media coverage and promote the department's research.
- Provide communications support for departmental events, conferences, and other activities.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as communications, journalism, or a scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in science communications, public engagement, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and formats.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
- Fluency in English and Danish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
