About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated AI researcher to join our team at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in machine learning, focusing on sustainable and responsible AI development.

The project involves investigating resource-efficient machine learning methods and their impact on the sustainability of AI systems. This includes developing novel algorithms, learning paradigms, and hardware optimization techniques that can lead to reductions in resources required for AI pipeline development. We aim to advance the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals through our research.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Conduct independent research under supervision
  • Complete PhD courses corresponding to approx. 30 ECTS / 1⁄2 FTE
  • Participate in active research environments, including a stay at another research institution, preferably abroad
  • Teaching and knowledge dissemination activities
  • Write scientific papers aimed at high-impact journals
  • Write and defend a PhD thesis on the basis of your project
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong interest in machine learning and AI
  • Academic background in computer science, mathematics, or related fields
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
