Senior R&D Leader for Assay Solutions

Job Summary
The Associate Vice President R&D – Assay Solutions is a key leadership position within Agilent's Pathology Division of Agilent's Diagnostics and Genomics Group. This role is responsible for defining the strategy and executing on research & development resulting in the commercialization of end-to-end anatomic pathology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for research and development of novel technologies, tissue-based diagnostics assays, digital pathology, artificial intelligence, clinically important biomarkers, technical services, staining chemistries, and clinical flow cytometry.
- Manage a team of R&D directors and their teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Work closely with Agilent's executive leadership team to shape the future of Diagnostics at Agilent.
- Identify and implement external partnerships with biopharma, key academic centers, and commercial companies to leverage external innovation & technology in research and development.
- Collaborate with program & portfolio management, global product marketing, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, medical, and clinical affairs to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Lead the development of clinical testing products using the latest technologies to build high-quality end-to-end solutions meeting the needs of biopharma/precision medicine and the clinical laboratory.
- Ensure the allocation of resources to projects according to plan and budget, prioritizing effectively.
- Implement and maintain the Agilent Quality System, ensuring design control standards are applied across the function.
- Develop and lead R&D- assay solution organization cost centers, establishing and integrating multi-level operational objectives and assignments.
- Drive operational execution to deliver on business strategy, optimizing processes regarding reagent feasibility, design space, and V&V testing and documentation.
- Represent Agilent's values and culture, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, or biochemistry.
- Experience: Senior leader and management skills, ability to influence and convince others, create followership, adaptability, strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management, planning skills, technical understanding, analytical approach, high degree of emotional intelligence, and willingness to take risk.
