The University of Copenhagen's Department of Biology is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Center for Volatile Interactions (VOLT). As a postdoc, you will contribute to our research on fluxes of volatiles associated with marine bacterioplankton and phytoplankton. Your focus will be on understanding the importance of bacterioplankton and phytoplankton interactions for VOC production/emission. This project involves both field and experimental work, as well as cultivation and molecular analyses of bacterial and phytoplankton community composition.
Main tasks and responsibilities include lead-writing scientific publications, co-authoring research papers, and supervising MSc students. We are looking for ambitious and highly motivated candidates with a PhD in marine microbial ecology or a related field. Excellent analytical skills, experience with VOC measurements using GC-MS or PTR-MS techniques, and multivariate statistics are essential. Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, as is excellent writing skills demonstrated by a strong publication record.
