PhD Researcher in Sustainable Construction Materials

At Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU), we are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven PhD researcher to contribute to our mission of developing technology for people. As part of our Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the field of circular construction materials.
About the JobThe successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with our team to further your career in construction material circularity and sustainability. Your primary responsibilities will include actively disseminating your research results through high-impact scientific articles, participating in international conferences, undertaking courses to develop expertise, translating research outcomes into practice/teaching material, and participating in teaching activities as a teaching assistance.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo excel in this role, you should possess a two-year master's degree or equivalent academic level, preferably within environmental engineering, statistics, or data science with a passion for sustainability. We also require documented experience with concepts of biobased materials, large datasets management, material flow analysis, life cycle assessment modeling, social-LCA, and/or life cycle cost modeling. Additionally, you should have strong scientific writing and publication skills at the international journal level, and be willing to learn about project management and support a RIA Horizon Europe project.
BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary of approximately €45,000 - €50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. You will also have the opportunity to work in an international environment, collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and engineers, and contribute to groundbreaking projects that address global challenges. As a formal qualification, you must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
