PhD Researcher in Sustainable Materials Development

About the Position
DTU Sustain, Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to contribute to our research efforts in sustainable materials development. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other scientific staff on an EU IA project focusing on upcycling mineral and timber-based waste from construction & manufacturing process industries.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in sustainable materials development, with a focus on biobased materials and circular economy principles.
- Develop and implement novel methods for material flow analysis, life cycle assessment modeling, and social-LCA.
- Publish high-impact scientific articles and present research at international conferences.
- Translate research outcomes into practice/teaching material and participate in teaching activities as a teaching assistant.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure strong collaboration with colleagues within the Centre.
Requirements
- MSc degree in environmental engineering, statistics, or data science with a passion for sustainability.
- Documented experience with concepts of biobased materials, large datasets management, and knowledge of material flow analysis, life cycle assessment modeling, and/or life cycle cost modeling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in an international environment.
- Good command of written and spoken English, with a preference for proficiency in Danish language.
