Postdoctoral Researcher in Advanced Quantum Computing Platforms

The Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Novo Nordisk Quantum Computing Program are collaborating to advance superconducting and semiconducting quantum computing platforms. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to improve qubits and related quantum processor performance with a focus on material quality and novel fabrication and packaging development.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform device fabrication, characterization, and analysis.
- Develop novel fabrication and characterization methods, including in-situ characterization and fabrication techniques.
- Document and communicate results through peer-reviewed publications and oral presentations.
- Collaborate with the Molecular Foundry and the Novo Nordisk Quantum Computing Program to advance the platforms.
- Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Strong experience with fabrication and characterization of qubit platforms.
- Strong interest in understanding material science aspects of qubit performance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time, 3-year postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory job performance and ongoing operational needs.
The position is open at the University of Copenhagen, with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as the research host.
