About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Director of API Synthesis to lead our team in the development and implementation of state-of-the-art commercial protein and peptide synthesis processes. As a key member of our Emerging Technologies (ET) area, you will be responsible for driving innovation and problem-solving within protein and peptide development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for protein and peptide synthesis, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and optimize manufacturing technologies, develop innovative application-specific solutions, and provide scientific input to commercial strategy.
  • Act as a thought-leader for protein and peptide synthesis, providing input and advice to senior management as required.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend their acquisition and application to enhance existing products and develop new drugs.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of product development processes across lab, pilot, scale-up, and commercialization phases.
  • Lead international collaborations with external partners and support stakeholder organizations with technical know-how.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record of senior scientific roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Expert knowledge and practical experience in state-of-the-art chemical protein and peptide synthesis and related manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and problem-solving within protein and peptide development and manufacturing.
  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and developing strategic plans.
  • A PhD in organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
