Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Data Analyst to join our team at the United Nations Development Programme.

As a Geospatial Data Analyst, you will assist the GIS Team in developing technical and semiautomated solutions to project work benefiting from geospatial analysis, machine learning, and deep learning. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development of intelligent algorithms capable of learning, analysing and predicting future events, as well as contributing to quality-focused training material, procedures, instructions, and templates.

You will also be required to use ESRI GIS products to communicate and visualize results, including dashboards and storymaps. Additionally, you will assist in hosting webinars and presenting/explaining GIS or data science solutions to country offices, regional bureaux, and local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the GIS Team in developing technical and semiautomated solutions to project work benefiting from geospatial analysis, machine learning, and deep learning

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need experience working with GIS data, including vector and raster datasets, geotagged data, remote sensing data products, including satellite imagery. You should also have prior experience writing code and developing scripts for machine learning modeling and geospatial analysis, preferably using Python.

Knowledge on how to integrate Python code with ArcGIS Products (e.g. ArcGIS Notebooks) is also required.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience working with GIS data, including vector and raster datasets, geotagged data, remote sensing data products, including satellite imagery
  • Prior experience writing code and developing scripts for machine learning modeling and geospatial analysis, preferably using Python

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
