About the Job

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) is seeking a climate scientist to work on climate modelling with focus on the polar regions and the climate affecting the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets. The position is part of the National Center for Climate Research, which conducts critical climate research for the Kingdom of Denmark.

As a climate scientist at DMI, you will work with our climate and ice sheet surface models that we employ in the Polar regions. You will design and execute model experiments, develop model code, and analyze outputs. Additionally, you will lead and contribute to scientific papers and participate in developing new grant applications with the group and external collaborators.

About You

  • A PhD degree in climate science, meteorology or related fields is required.
  • Experience with climate modelling, preferably of the atmosphere or ice sheets, is an advantage.
  • Advanced programming skills and experience with HPC systems are essential.
  • Good communication skills in oral and written English are necessary.
