This position is associated with the research program focused on "Reliability in Power Electronic Components," and the PhD candidate will be aligned with the section dedicated to Applied Power Electronic Systems.
The doctoral research will concentrate on the evaluation and intelligent testing of power electronic components and systems, utilizing complex mission profiles to assess their reliability. Key activities will include:
- Data analysis
- Reliability modeling and assessment
- Validation of robustness
- Accelerated testing based on mission profiles
Prior experimental experience is advantageous.
Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive project description outlining their initial thoughts and ideas pertinent to the specific project. This should include:
- A concise state-of-the-art review (with a brief list of references)
- A timeline for the project
- Insights on how the applicant plans to address the project objectives
The project description should be approximately 4-5 pages in length.
A solid foundation in power electronics is essential. Proficiency in MATLAB, LabView, and primary circuit simulation tools such as PSpice and PLECS is highly desirable. Additional experience in the reliability domain, including power cycling, stress testing, modeling, and simulation, is beneficial but not mandatory.
