PhD Researcher in Power Electronic Component Reliability

Research and TeachingAAU Energy is in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, with extensive and leading workshop and laboratory facilities where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry. The position is offered in relation to the research program "Reliability in Power Electronic Components" and the PhD student will be positioned to the section for Applied Power Electronic Systems.
PhD ProjectThe PhD work will focus on the analysis and smart testing of power electronic components and systems based on complex mission profiles of their reliability. This involves data analysis, reliability modelling and analysis, robustness validation as well as mission-profile-based accelerated testing. Experimental experience will be an advantage.
Requirements- A good background in power electronics is mandatory.
- Experience with MATLAB, LabView and the principal circuit simulation programs such as PSpice and PLECS is highly demanded.
- Further experience in the reliability field, e.g., power cycling, stress tests, modeling, and simulation is welcome but not mandatory.
The applicant must provide and upload a proper project description, which describes the applicant's initial thoughts and ideas related to the specific project applied for. This includes a brief state-of-the-art (including short list of references), a time schedule and how the applicant intends to shed light on the project objectives. The project description should have a length of 4-5 pages.
