Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor in International Politics to join our team at the University of Southern Denmark, Syddansk Universitet (SDU).

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and publishing research at an international level in areas relevant to the International and Regional Politics section and the Center for War Studies.

You will also conduct teaching and supervision within the department's entire portfolio of study programs, including the full-time political science program, the Master's program in International Security and Law, and the professional Master in Intelligence and Cyber Studies.

Apart from research and teaching, you will be expected to contribute to study program management, apply for external research funding, and engage in knowledge exchange activities with the wider society.

Requirements
  • Deliver a research profile aligned with the strategy of the International and Regional Politics Section, indicating potential for international scholarly impact and facilitating research cooperation within the Center for War Studies.
  • Demonstrate substantial publication of research at an internationally recognized level.
  • Show proven ability to participate in and develop research collectives as well as international networks.
  • Possess a strong teaching profile that demonstrates ample experience with various teaching and supervision formats.
  • Have a proven ability in the development and implementation of new pedagogical or didactical techniques.
  • Documented participation in fundraising and coordination of research projects.
  • An experience with and genuine interest in outreach or knowledge-sharing activities.
About the Department

The Department of Political Science and Public Management is part of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark. Our department offers a dynamic and stimulating environment for both faculty members and students.
