This postdoctoral research position is part of the Villum Investigator project 'Microstructural Engineering of Additive Manufactured Metals - MicroAM' at the DTU Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

The project aims to introduce microstructural engineering into the field of additive manufacturing (AM) of metals, focusing on developing a theoretical framework for designing defect-tolerant microstructures.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Conduct experiments and simulations to understand the effects of powder/printing parameters on microstructure and mechanical properties
  • Develop and apply advanced analytical tools to link microstructure and mechanical behavior
  • Collaborate with senior researchers and PhD students to advance project goals
  • Demonstrate expertise in additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, microstructural characterization, mechanical testing, crystallography, and physical metallurgy
