Plankton Life Modelling and Observing Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and applying underwater image and hydroacoustic technology to assess plankton life across different ecosystems worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fieldwork within biological oceanography and technical skills to run and modify equipment. Modelling skills are an advantage. We expect you to have flexibility concerning fieldwork and research stays abroad, ability to conduct research independently, good collaborative skills, strong interest in participating in an interdisciplinary and international research environment, and good communication skills in English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply and develop image and hydroacoustic equipment to assess microscopic marine life ranging from µm to several cm scales.
- Collect new data, analyze existing data, and locate published data to assess and synthesize climate change impacts on food webs.
- Publish generated data and results in the form of database entries, write scientific publications, and help establish an international database initiative to collect and archive marine life in a standardized form.
