PhD Researcher in Novel Microsystem Development for Vaccine Delivery

We are seeking a talented PhD candidate to contribute to the development of novel vaccination strategies by applying microengineering skills in a dynamic research environment. The MINERVA project aims to design and fabricate microinjection systems for controlled and location-specific delivery of macromolecules in the oral cavity. As a member of our interdisciplinary research team, you will work closely with researchers at DTU Nanolab, DTU Health Tech, and Statens Serum Institute (SSI) to explore new approaches for transmucosal delivery of mRNA vaccines.

Key responsibilities include planning and executing experimental research, designing and optimizing microsystems for vaccine delivery using additive manufacturing technology, integrating microfluidics and activation mechanisms, and evaluating mechanical stability and efficiency of microinjection systems in vitro and ex vivo. You will also collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team and contribute as a teaching assistant at DTU Nanolab and supervise BSc and MSc student projects.
