Lead Researcher in Advanced Solid-State Battery Materials

Research Opportunity: We invite applications for a PhD scholarship in the development of novel solid electrolytes for all-solid-state batteries at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU). The project aims to investigate the effect of dislocation density on the ion conductivity of the electrolyte, paving the way for safer and more efficient electrochemical energy storage.

About the Position: As a PhD student, you will be responsible for investigating the impact of dislocations on ionic conductivity and dendrite growth resistance. Your research will involve fabricating solid electrolytes using high-temperature forging of oxide ceramics and utilizing in-situ x-ray tomography and transmission electron microscopy to visualize and analyze the effects of dislocation density on ion transport.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate the relationship between dislocation density and ionic conductivity in solid electrolytes
  • Utilize in-situ x-ray tomography and transmission electron microscopy to study dendrite growth and ion transport under electric field
  • Develop and characterize advanced solid-state battery materials with enhanced performance

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A two-year master's degree or equivalent academic background in chemistry, physics, or materials science engineering
  • Strong experimental experience in electrochemical energy storage, solid-state chemistry, and impedance spectroscopy
  • Excellent knowledge of ceramic processing and characterization techniques
