The Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Ethology Research Specialist for a 2-year position starting March 2025 or after agreement. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary group working on various aspects of animal welfare and human-animal relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research-based teaching and share knowledge with society
  • Participate in formal pedagogical training programs for assistant professors

We are looking for a highly experienced scientist with a PhD in Applied Ethology, who has a strong background in analyzing the motivational background of animal behavior. The ideal candidate should have pre- and postgraduate teaching experience within Applied Ethology and excellent communication skills. Proficient English language skills are also essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in Applied Ethology
  • Experience in behavioral observations and related research fields (e.g., psychology, behavioral ecology)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong English language skills written and spoken

Salary and Benefits

The average monthly salary is around 40,615 DKK (approximately 5,415 EUR), which may be negotiable based on qualifications. Additional benefits include a pension plan and opportunities for tax reductions for foreign applicants.
