As a Senior Research Fellow in Autoimmune Diseases, you will be part of the Department of Biomedicine at Aarhus University, working closely with colleagues to advance our understanding of autoimmune diseases.

Job DescriptionYour main responsibilities as a Senior Research Fellow will include:
- Conducting high-quality research in autoimmune diseases, including publication in top international journals and communicating your research in national and international academic networks.
- Teaching and supervision of Bachelor's and Master's degree students and contributing to the development of new teaching activities.
- Funding research through external funding bodies.
- Supervising PhD students and contributing to the development of the faculty's PhD courses.
- Involvement in assessment and committee work at Aarhus University.
- Disseminating your research to the outside world.
- Planning and supervising clinical projects with collection of patient samples to support translational research.
- Initiating, facilitating and leading research networks and collaborations between basic research and clinical projects.
You will report to the Head of Department Thomas G. Jensen.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- Established yourself as a prominent researcher within the autoimmune- and immune-mediated disease research.
- Documented solid research and teaching qualifications at a high international level.
- Broad international cooperative partnerships and experience of research partnerships with private and public-sector stakeholders.
- Potential of becoming a skilled group leader.
- Experience of attracting significant research funding from national and international funding bodies.
Expert knowledge within immune-mediated diseases, including rheumatic- and connective tissue disorders, immune checkpoint receptors, autoantibodies and fibrosis, are important qualifications.
You will be heading a translational research group, and we expect you to be up to date with clinical guidelines as well as the basic immunological understanding.
BenefitsAarhus University offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- An estimated annual salary of approximately DKK 1,030,000 (including a position-related supplement, a pre-agreed associate professor supplement and pension).
- Additional supplements can be negotiated dependent on experience, special qualifications and performance of special functions.
- Authorisation supplements will be granted, if relevant for the position.
- Travel and moving expenses may be covered according to the employee in question and, to a limited extent, the accompanying family.
