Senior Scientist of Brain Cancer RNA Research

The Department of Biomedicine at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as Senior Scientist in the field of brain cancer RNA research. The department prioritizes diversity and a good work environment, which is essential for groundbreaking research.

Aarhus University's Department of Biomedicine provides research-based teaching of the highest quality and is responsible for a large part of the medical degree programme. Academic staff contribute to teaching, and English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings, and at seminars.
The department employs around 500 people from all over the world and uses modern laboratory-, core-, and animal facilities. It focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration with business and industry, and numerous researchers have established companies to develop new medicinal treatments based on professional scientific basic research.
As Senior Scientist of brain cancer RNA research, your primary tasks will be research and research-based teaching. You will teach and supervise students at Bachelor's and Master's levels and contribute to the development of the department through research of high international quality.
Your main tasks will include:
- Independent research of high international quality, including publication
- Teaching, guidance, and examination of Bachelor's and Master's degree students, as well as possibly supervision of PhD students
- Some degree of contribution towards attracting external research funding
You will report to Associate Professor Lasse Sommer Kristensen.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the academic criteria outlined in the Ministerial Order on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Shortlisting will be used in the assessment process.
The salary for this position is estimated to be between DKK 484,214.84 and DKK 538,720.20 per year, depending on years of working experience after achieving the MSc degree. Researchers recruited from abroad are offered a special researcher tax scheme with a lower tax rate.
